31 weeks #2

Symptoms?: Pretty much the same. I started getting menstrual type cramps–especially in the evenings. Dr. B said I would feel more contractions earlier on this time around, so I’m wondering if that is what I’m feeling.

Weight gain?: Up 16lbs total

Best thing that happened this week?: The weather has been gorgeous! Kellen and I have been playing outside every day 🙂

Movement: Still a good amount–maybe a little slower than usual. I’m assuming she’s running out of room. Sometimes I think she has turned out of breach position but it’s hard to tell.

Any baby-related purchases this week?: No

Nursery progress: None

Milestones reached?: None

What size is the baby?: A pineapple

Belly picture: I actually didn’t take my own today. We had maternity/family pictures today with Bryan who was our wedding photographer. He said he should have them done in a week or so–so I will post then 🙂

30 weeks #2

Symptoms?:  Still tired, but it’s not horrible.  Everything is getting harder–walking, getting up from sitting, turning around in bed.  I try to make Kellen walk as much as I can because it is getting hard to carry her.

Weight gain?:  Up 16lbs total

Best thing that happened this week?:  We moved Kellen to her toddler bed last night and I was so nervous about it!  But she did amazing!  Didn’t leave the bed once!  So proud of her 🙂

Movement:  Yep–I can feel either her bum or her head up by my right rib.  At the OB appt yesterday, Dr. B confirmed that she is breech.  She was head down at our ultrasound at 27w but a week or so after that  I had pretty intense movement where it actually hurt!  And then shortly after she got hiccups and I felt them up by my rib so I got a bad feeling she moved to breech….and I was right.  Boo.  Dr. B doesn’t worry about it until 36w, but after that I will be doing everything I can to get her to turn–acupuncture, chiropractor, Spinning Babies and as a last resort, we will schedule a version.  I really really really do not want a c-section.

Any baby-related purchases this week?:  Nope

Nursery progress:  The crib is in there but it is in pieces–we can’t fit it through the door without taking it apart.  John will put it back together tonight and then I will put the bedding on it.  I can’t wait!  I realized I have some room for decor on the walls, so I asked Tanya to make me a few more prints that I can print and frame.  Then I will frame her birth announcement and make something like this after she is born.

Birth Announcement.001

(Those are not my prediction stats or anything–just putting in data to get an idea of the layout 🙂 )

Milestones reached?:  30 Weeks!  Woot woot!

I’ve been bad about updating the past couple weeks! Oops. Last weekend we were in Black Butte at a condo owned by a friend of Chris and Emily’s. It was a mini-babymoon for us and Chris and Emily came as well. She’s 10w behind me in her pregnancy. We had a gorgeous view of the mountains and were right on the golf course. Friday was really pretty for most of the day. We drove into Sisters and ate lunch and then went and saw the Metolius River where it first comes above ground–pretty neat! Also visited the fish hatchery where I saw the biggest rainbow trout I have ever seen! When we got back to the condo we decided to go to the driving range. I have only been once before and it was many years ago with my Leepa. I could barely hit balls then I remember :p I thought it would be the same this time, but I actually did okay. I even hit a few straight and pretty far. Most were not, but hey, I was making contact 🙂 A storm came in shortly after we got back to the condo and it was super windy. Ended up snowing a bit overnight, but nothing too crazy. Saturday we went into Bend and the boys dropped us off at a Jensei Spa. They went and bowled and played shuffleboard while we got pampered 🙂 It was a very nice and spendy spa–I got a 90min prenatal massage and they have these great cushions they put on top of the tables that have holes for the belly and the girls. It was very nice. Then I got a mani and pedi and they were great but the pedi benches were uncomfortable, I don’t they lasted as long as they were supposed to and I really don’t think they were worth the $100 total price tag. They were nice, but just not worth that much. Oh well, we had a great time! The boys picked us up after we showered and we went to a Mexican place for dinner and then went and played some shuffleboard. Sunday we went to the pool and just relaxed and then came home. We were both missing Kellen really bad. We haven’t left her for an extended period of time besides when we went to Vegas and now that she’s older she has the capability of missing us. She stayed at my dad’s and we called to Facetime with her Friday evening and she got really upset 😦 I think it just made her miss us more and was upset that she could see and hear us, but that we weren’t there. So after that we just called or text my dad to check on her. When we got home, she was super excited to see us and wanted me to pick her up. And then she started crying 😦 She was glad we were home too I think.

Symptoms?:  Tired and sore still.  It’s hard to get up and down from the floor and even standing up from sitting.  And when I’m sitting it’s like I’m squishing her.  Sometimes it’s hard to breathe depending on where she is.

Weight gain?:  Up 15lbs total

Best thing that happened this week?:   Our mini-babymoon

Movement:  Yep–some of them are actually kind of painful!

Any baby-related purchases this week?:  I don’t believe so–we are pretty much done buying everything

Nursery progress:  Today we moved furniture around.  I shampooed Kellen’s carpets and we moved all her new furniture into her room except for her toddler bed.  We are going to see our friend’s band play tomorrow night so Lindsey is going to stay and watch her and we didn’t want her to have to deal with Kellen transitioning to the toddler bed.  We will do it next weekend.  So that means all of Kellen’s nursery furniture is now Raelee’s and in her room 🙂  Except the crib.  So we got that all in place and I hung up some decor.  Almost all put together!

Milestones reached?:  I did end up failing my 1hr GTT by 1 point 😦  So I had to take the 3 hr and I passed just fine, so that’s good 🙂

What size is the baby?:  Acorn Squash

Belly picture:  This is 27 weeks and then 29 weeks.  Holy moly I got bigger!

Best thing that happened this week?:  Hmm, oh, we reached the double digit countdown as of yesterday!  Woot woot 🙂

Any baby-related purchases this week?:  Nope

Nursery progress:  Same–nothing new

Milestones reached?:  Took my 1hr GTT test today–hope I pass!

Symptoms?:  Pretty much the same

Viability #2!

Symptoms?:  The tiredness is really coming back in full force this past week. Swelling and soreness in not so fun places as well…. :/

Weight gain?: Up 11 pounds total

Best thing that happened this week?:  Watching my belly shake and move when she kicks me 🙂

Movement:  Yep–still a lot

Any baby-related purchases this week?:  I don’t believe so. We should be pretty much done besides putting the nursery together.

Nursery progress:  Not too much–working on the mobile now, but it’s a slow process. I figure I have lots of time.

Milestones reached?:  Viability Day! If Raelee is delivered now or later, the doctors will try to save her life. Of course, she needs to wait about 16 more weeks though!

What size is the baby?:  A cantaloupe

Belly picture:  This picture makes my booty look much bigger than it is :p  It’s the sweater I think.

She’s now closer to 2….

Kellen is 18 months old!  Can you believe it??  I can’t.  And she’s getting so so big!  I weighed her yesterday at home and will update next week with the Pedi’s measurements, but as of yesterday she was 23lbs 14oz which puts her in the 45th percentile!  She has come so far in growth since our little peanut was an infant and in the 11th percentile!

Update for stats!

Went to the Pedi today at 18m5d:

Weight: 23lbs15oz (45th%)

Height: 32″ (60th%!!!!)

Head: 18.5″ (63rd%)

Here are her 17 month pictures:

We started some new classes in January! On Mondays we now have a dance class–which is more just a little bit of dancing and a lot of running around climbing on stuff on mats 🙂 But I never got to do fun things like that as a kid, so I love that we can.  I asked another mom who took the class if it would be silly of me to buy leotards with tutus on them like girls wear to ballet–I just knew Kellen would look so so cute in them but didn’t want to look like some crazy stage mom :p  I guess tons of little girls did in her class, so I went and bought a couple.  The smallest size I could find was 2T so they are big on her, but mostly the sleeves and it is cold anyway, so I put a little cardigan on her.  Well, her and Julia, a little girl from MOMs group, are almost the only girls in the class!  There is one other girl and the rest are boys.  Julia and Kellen are the only ones in tutus.  But oh well–they look adorable 🙂

In February she started gymnastics on Fridays–so now we have an activity every day of the week.  I was going to keep Fridays open since John is off Fridays and that way we can just do whatever we want as a family, but then I thought how much fun it would be for John to do the class with Kellen.  They could have good one on one time and it would give me a little alone time for now and then when Raelee gets here, it will be good for just me and Raelee and for Kellen to get some individual attention.  John agreed 🙂  They’ve only had 2 classes so far, but it is a 45 minute class and the entire class is structured–always something to do.  No real free time.  The first class didn’t go too well.  We didn’t give her a snack beforehand since it was earlier than when we usually do, but with how long the class was, we should have and will from now on.  She was starving by the time it was done.  She whined a lot during the class.  I also think part of it was because I was there taking pictures.  She’s really attached to me–she loves her Dad, but she’s just not used to seeing me from a distance.  So I didn’t go to the last class, and John gave her a snack before it started and he said it went much better.  Kellen is also in this class with Julia and her mom Laura.  We actually see them every weekday now–Monday dance, Tues/Thurs swimming, Wednesday playgroup, Friday gymnastics 🙂

Her hair is a little bit longer–still somewhat mullet like.  But we can do pony tails now 🙂  Usually the front and sides fall out, but they still look really cute.  She’s back to letting me do her hair on most days again.

IMG_1675

Playgroup has been going well–we have moved it to Wednesday mornings and it seems like more people can make it.  And it’s really cute because the kids are starting to interact with each other more.

IMG_1862

Kellen has been napping later in the day which makes it nice.  She usually is asleep somewhere between 1 and 2pm.  On average she probably sleeps 1.5-2hrs but she still has some 45min naps.  The good thing though lately is after a short nap like that, she might only be cranky for 15/20 minutes and then she’s fine.  And since she’s napping later, it helps her not get super tired later because bed time isn’t that much farther away.  Because of her later naps we get out pretty early every morning–usually by 9am, and do all of our activities and errands before coming home for lunch and then nap.  Afternoons are spent with us playing and me trying to get some chores accomplished 🙂

Bedtime is fun time for her with John–he usually gets home from work while she is in the bath and then we read books and play in her room for about a half hour before bed.  She loves playing with her Dad 🙂

IMG_1906IMG_1744

She talks so much!  She’s up to at least 30 words–she recognizes about 5 shapes and will say “Oval” and can say and recognize A, B, C (sometimes), D and E.  She also is starting to spell her name with a little help from me 🙂  She pronounces words much better now.  Her favorite word is still “Ball” and it is also her favorite toy.  But now she also says “Elmo!” all the time.  Her obsessions started with books and that is when she started saying his name.  John downloaded an Elmo movie for her for car rides and she really liked it.  I’ve tried putting on Sesame Street before and she doesn’t really want to watch it–except for Elmo’s World.  Now she asks to watch that movie every day!  And I have an Elmo app on my phone and anytime she sees my phone she asks for Elmo on there as well.  I bought her an Elmo shirt because Laura, Julia and us are going to see Sesame Street Live when they come to town in May!  We got 3rd row seats–Kellen is going to love it!

Next month we will be transitioning her to a toddler bed.  Right now it is set up in Raelee’s room and she crawls on it all the time and says “bed!”  I’m hoping it goes smoothly!

Food is still a challenge.  I can’t even rely on her getting vegetables anymore.  She used to eat lima beans all the time and zucchini.  But I haven’t been able to get her to eat them for weeks!  She pretty much just wants cheese all the time  :/  She’s liking fruit a little so I know she is getting some nutrients from there.  But pretty much everything else is a crap shoot.  And meat?  Yeah, forget that.  Ugh.

We are still having so much fun together–really enjoying these last few months of just the two of us.  We play a lot now where she is laughing a ton–tickling, chasing, and hiding.  She loves playing 🙂  The weather is starting to get a little nicer so we’ve been able to go outside here and there which is really nice.

In other news, I was looking back at my last blog post on Kellen and read how Coach Kelly decided to stay here to coach Oregon Football.  Well, he decided to actually leave and go coach for the Eagles in the NFL  😦  Sad to see him go, but I understand–it’s business.  Also, at the end of January my Great Aunt Shirley passed away 😦  I was very upset and sad over it.  But I know she is now no longer suffering.  I miss her, but hope to see her again someday.

Symptoms?:  Just tired most of the time.  RLP still a little and crampy when I do a lot of activity.

Weight gain?: Up 10 pounds total

Best thing that happened this week?:  More progress on the nursery

Movement:  Yep–still a lot

Any baby-related purchases this week?:  Yep, I got the rest of everything that we needed.  I made a registry on Target so I could get the registry completion coupon and we got it in the mail last week.  So I bought a bunch of stuff online and then went to the Target stores here to get everything else.  Besides probably some finishing touches on Raelee’s room, we have everything we need 🙂

Nursery progress:  Lots!  John put up a bunch of shelving for me and I worked really hard on my DIY projects this past week to get those done.

Milestones reached?:  None

What size is the baby?:  A papaya

Symptoms?:  Pretty good overall. I’ve gotten some pretty wicked RLP this past week.

Weight gain?: Up 9 pounds total

Best thing that happened this week?:  Nursery progress!

Movement:  Yep!  I feel her a lot! I can see her moving externally too 🙂

Any baby-related purchases this week?:  I bought a bunch of supplies to do some DIY stuff for her nursery.  Have barely started on any of it though.  I’m wrapping her name in yarn and I thought it was going to be super easy but very cute.  Well, it’s not easy.  And not as cute as all those websites show!  Oh well, I am making them with love :p

IMG_1858

Nursery progress:  Yep, they finished the primer last Sunday and John and I painted the white wall this past week that the crib will go on.  Then taped it off for the stripes and painted the aqua yesterday.  Took all the tape off today and did some touch up.  It looks great!  I can’t wait to start getting more stuff in there.  We will probably move all the furniture except the crib in there next weekend and set up Kellen’s room.  We are waiting until we get back from our mini-babymoon in mid-April to put Kellen into her toddler bed.

Any baby-related purchases this week?:  No. But we did get the fabric swatches for the bedding so I can go and get paint and supplies to make some decor.

Nursery progress:  John and I taped and patched holes on Friday.  Lindsey and Nainoa are coming over today to do the primer with John.  I’ll probably buy some paint samples this week to try a couple different colors on the wall to see what we like.

Milestones reached?:   20 weeks!
